This building was built in 1911. It housed people of all ages with chronic mental illnesses. Before this building was the Jones County Poor Farm building that was there 1850-1910. Records show that 80+ people died during that time. The property was purchased in 2011 by owners that wish their names to remain private.
Because of the experiences we had at our previous investigation, we decided to investigate the Manor again. The weather was very cold and the building was less than 40 degrees inside so we were not able to stay and investigate as long as we would have liked to. Regardless, we still had a good time and more personal experiences to add to our investigations at Edinburgh Manor.
Becky- Early in the evening, Steve set up his REM pod in the main hallway of the 1st floor. While Diana and I were in the building and Bryce and Steve were outside filming, I heard the REM pod go off. I commented on it, but my audio clip doesn’t catch it good since I was talking at the time.
While Steph and I were in command central, we both thought we heard voices. At the time we both thought they sounded kind of like a tv playing because I commented about we shouldn’t be able to hear a TV even if there might be one on in the house behind the Manor. It’s faint, but it was caught on audio.
While in the large ward on the first floor, we all experienced unexplained taps, knocks, and footsteps that seemed to go from the hallway and around different areas of the room. First a noise was heard in the hall, then over by the right corner of the room and seemed to travel counter clockwise around the room.
I felt very uncomfortable while in the basement. I didn’t have any personal experiences in the basement area, but I remember feeling sad when I saw the piano sitting there.
I also felt uncomfortable on the 2nd floor, as soon as Terry, Steph and I went up there. We set up an EM pump in the hallway. We went into the room at the top of the steps. I asked if someone was up there with us and immediately heard a pop which we attributed to settling. I then started to get a headache. About 5 minutes after that, Steph and I heard a noise in the hallway. Terry heard what sounded like dishes, then Steph heard a scrape and then we heard footsteps right afterward. Steph spoke of being very nervous. We then moved to a room down the hall. I saw a shadow on the door frame while we were sitting in the room. Shortly after that Steph saw a shadow and then Terry heard a noise or voice that was caught on audio. Several minutes later, Terry saw a pinpoint of light, looking down the hallway from the blue room. Terry then heard footsteps. We heard noises come from various areas and while walking back down the main hall, just past the stairway, Steph thought she saw a face peek out of a doorway.
Steph- Towards the beginning of the evening myself and Becky heard what sounded like a conversation outside of the room that we were in, almost like a television playing. After a couple of moments we realized that there was no television and we were hearing something else. There was no one outside of the room that we could be hearing at that time as it was when we first goth there and were all in the room.
While me and Diana were in the “control room” by the front door of the building, we heard what sounded like slippers scraping on the floor outside in the hall near us.
While myself, Becky, and Terry were on the second floor we heard BLATANT footsteps in the hallway from the room that we were in. These footsteps were caught on audio. We also heard a dragging noise out in the hallway that was also caught on audio.
While on the second floor myself, Becky and Terry were walking down the hallway and I felt very creeped out and nervous all of a sudden, more than usual. After just passing the stairwell I felt the sudden overwhelming urge to turn around and when I did I shined my flashlight down the hallway. At this time, I saw what looked like a person sticking his or her head out of one of the rooms on the left side. It was solid and looked like a flesh and blood face, not see through in any way. I only saw it for a second or so as it startled me and I looked away and removed the flashlight from the face. I could not tell if it was a man or woman but it had dark hair.
Upon listening back to that moment on our audio there is a strong EVP of a voice caught right next to the area that we were in that sounds like it is speaking directly to us. I feel that subconsciously I may have heard or sensed that voice and whatever made it and that is what made me want to turn around but of course I cannot prove as this is a personal experience.
Late in the evening, the EMF sensor was going off in the control room with no plausible explanation.
Terry- Upon arriving I went to the first room around the corner from command central to change into a long sleeve shirt. As soon as I got the shirt off, I could’ve sworn I heard a very faint female scream. I’m not certain what else it could have been. No one reported it on audio.
Heard footsteps a few times out loud from the hallways. They were also captured on audio recorders.
At around 10:24 I saw a pinpoint of light dart across the second floor hallway from the Blue Room. It was a while after that I was trying to figure out what I could have seen when Steph saw a face appear from a door way.
A few times during the night I had headaches when Becky said she had them too. Brief sharp pain that didn’t last very long. Mine were all on the right side temporal region. Just an odd occurrence.
Bryce- Reported hearing unexplained noises throughout the night.

As with our last investigation, Edinburgh Manor did not disappoint. Even though our evening was fairly short, we managed to capture more audio evidence than any other investigation we’ve conducted. We will be making a return trip when the weather is more cooperative so we can hopefully discover the source of all the activity.
