Private residence Moline, Illinois

Chris was contacted by a co-worker in regards to our group conducting an investigation at her home. Her main reports were of escalated activity since her daughter had turned 16. Clients reported unexplained voices, lights and electrical appliances going off and on, doors opening and closing, and objects moving. Terry, Paul, Jordan, Becky and Andrea formed the team of investigators.

The team concentrated on the upstairs rooms, since that is where most of the reports of activity took place. A videocam was set up in the hallway in hopes of capturing the reported shadow. The team split up into different areas of the upstairs so that they could monitor any activity, but remained in sight of each other. Several EVP sessions were conducted, before asking the clients children to participate, one at a time, in hopes of producing any of the reported paranormal experiences.

Personal experiences reported are as follows:

Terry writes “I had almost no personal experiences. I did feel a heavy feeling when I was upstairs alone taking photos and video before the investigation started. I also heard the light bulb above me tap, two different times, but it didn’t strike me as paranormal. I was able to capture some EVPs.

Becky reported that my dvr was not functioning during the majority of the investigation. The only personal experience I had was watching the flashlight go off. After we had been talking for about 5 minutes, Jordan said something about we were going to leave, so turn it off, she was too lazy to and the flashlight went off and then back on.

Andreas’ personal experience was at the end of the investigation when she was standing near Becky and felt really cold on her left side, to the point of having goose bumps.

9 29PM becky laughs then whisper

light goes off

The family reports, to Chris, that activity seems to have ceased since we investigated.

On August 28th, at 7:00 pm,  MVP will be returning to the East Moline Library. The group held a presentation and public investigation on July 17th

and it was a big success.  Some surprising results from the investigation will be revealed when the group returns on August 28th for

a reveal, new presentation and another public investigation. If you would like to be a part of the fun, please contact Tami at the library at

Conducting a Proper EVP Session

In most paranormal investigations, investigators conduct what is
called an EVP session. These are conducted in hopes to receive a vocal,
visual, or audible response from whatever may be lurking there. There are
a few rules when conducting a session that every good investigator should
follow. 1. Keep your questions short and to the point. 2. Allow 15 to
20 seconds between questions to allow for response. 3. Note any and all
sounds heard by "tagging." Tagging is making a vocal note of any sound
heard by the investigator. When going over audio, if you come across a
voice, whisper, or sound that was not tagged, you can note it as possible
paranormal. 4. Try to keep your questions on an interpersonal level.
Remember that you are speaking to what once was a person, who doesn't know
you or why you are there. 5. Try to refrain from provoking at all costs.
You never know what or whom you are dealing with. Provocation is only used
when absolutely no signs of activity have been noticed the whole night.
Some investigators believe that provocation is the only way to get results.
But think about it from the other side of this. If you were a ghost,
would you want to cooperate with anyone demanding things of you or trying
to anger you? Provocation can also be dangerous if dealing with a
malevolent or demonic entity as I found out on our Clinton investigation.
6. Try to refrain from coughing, sneezing or clearing your throat during
an EVP session. If you have a cough that is difficult to control it is
best not to participate in the session. 7. Try to eliminate any and all
outside contamination, by allowing other investigators or clients to know
that you are conducting a session and to be silent at all times during. 8.
Allow only one person to ask questions during the session, this way it
eliminates any confusion and keeps the conversation between the
investigator and the ghost. 9. Most importantly, use your senses. Your
sense of hearing, sight, smell, taste, touch, and even intuition. You
never know what you might miss if you close yourself off to these things.
10. Think outside the box, don't ask the same questions over and over.
Whatever you may be talking to might become bored. Use historical
references, talk about the weather, maybe talk about an event that happened
at the time when the spirit was alive. If you follow these 10 simple
rules, you should be able to conduct a picture perfect EVP session. Happy

Lions Club Muscatine Presentation

Team members Becky Conner, Steve Danielsen, and Bob Brading did a fantastic job representing the group at a presentation for the Muscatine Iowa Lions Club on April 15, 2010. Becky was contacted by George, a homeowner in Muscatine that MVP has investigated for 4 times in the past. He is a member of the Lions Club and wanted MVP to do a presentation for his group.

The presentation started with Becky making introductions and giving a brief history of MVP. Next Steve demonstrated some of the equipment that we use in our investigations to try to collect scientific evidence of the paranormal. Bob had created a 3 page handout that consisted of a flyer on the front page that had our website, youtube address, and contact information, and a multiple choice quiz of pararnormal terms on the second and third pages. Bob made a cd of 19 of our best EVPs from various investigations and Steve played that while Becky explained where each was from and what we believed was being said or heard. The presentation ended with a question and answer period and we had good audience participation for that.

We enjoyed ourselves and believe that the audience obtained a better understanding of our group and the paranormal in general.

MVP Chili Contest

Sally made chili and entered it in a chili contest that was being held as part of Kids First Academy(Camanche) Family Fun night, held at Gils in Clinton. Bob and Paul were on hand to help her dish up the chili so that it could be judged. They all handed out flyers and business cards in an effort to make people in Clinton and surrounding areas aware of our group. Please look at the Gallery Page for pictures from this event!

Ghost Hunter

Ghost Hunter: For all intents and purposes is someone who
Hunts ghosts right? That is the defining question. Do we hunt ghosts or do
ghosts hunt us? As we know from all the paranormal programs out there that
ghosts rarely work on cue and the eager investigator may (or may not )end
up with a clear evp at the end of the night or an amazing picture of a full
body apparition. With a little lucky for our efforts we may catch a quick
glimpse of a human shape in the flir camera or on a real good night the
shadow people may let themselves be seen, but hide just at the edge of
darkness and shy away at every attempt to communicate. The main thing that
defines us as hunters of ghosts is how we present ourselves to the client
as well as our brethren in the field. Personal satisfaction that our team
may boast the most pics or the most evps on our website is a real badge of
honor of course, but something that is often lost in the midst is the fact
that we are all people, we will return home to our family that evening and
enjoy the comfort of others. As we investigate with the living it should
always be in our hearts and minds that the ones we hunt will never walk the
path that we do ever again.

Evps, Photography And What’s In Between

Paranormal research is based upon the theory that life goes on even after
death. From the beginning of recorded history Spirits, Apparition’s and
Ghost’s have been seen by people of all religious faiths and from all
walks of life. With the beginning of the technological age these echo’s
of the past have been captured on both audio and video recording devices as
well as still pictures taken with both digital camera uploaded to a
computer and film cameras that when developed show an unknown presence that
you're sure was not there before. Our ability to see the world around us is
limited by what our eyes are able to relay to our brain and sometimes we
are not aware that the light we see or the sounds we hear are just a small
part of the natural world that surrounds us. The devices used to capture
such Ghostly images and sounds operate on many different levels of the
spectrum in both light and sound, and sometimes the hereafter passes in
between. Evp (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) are the voices in the background
of some recordings that may call out for help, answer questions, or advise
you to hastily leave the place they once called home. The way we hear
everyday sounds is that our ears pick up all the sounds around us and then
translate this information into a form your brain can understand. One of
the most remarkable things about this process is that it is completely
mechanical. Your sense of smell, taste and vision all involve chemical
reactions, but your hearing system is based solely on physical movement.
The theory of electronic recording and evps is that the method of recording
is based on electricity and magnets, for example the magnet your voice
passes over through a microphone may be close to the frequency an evp is
captured thus leaving its imprint on the recording device either
electronic(digital)or Tape(analog),both devices use electromagnetic
microphones. The same may be said with spirit photographs, the light we see
and the light that a camera translates into a picture also varies. The light
we see with our eyes lays between the infrared and the ultraviolet spectrum
and is called visible light, by using a prism visible light can be observed
as being Blue, Yellow, Red and Green the light on either side of that can
only be seen with the aide of a device designed to operate on this
frequency the F.L.I.R camera (forward looking infrared) is designed to see
in the infrared spectrum. Some animals also see in the infrared spectrum
such as some reptiles.Pets such as dogs and cats have also been reported to
be highly sensitive to paranormal activity and may in fact may be able to
see things us humans can not.
